Your MSN Internet Access e-mail is not presently available through Hotmail. If you'd like to be able to access e-mail through the Web, you have the following options:
  • Download the new MSN software, MSN Explorer. This will allow you to move your MSN Internet Access e-mail to Hotmail. You will be able to read your e-mail in MSN Explorer or from any Web browser, but not through Outlook Express. To download MSN Explorer, visit http://explorer.msn.com.
  • Create a Hotmail account. This will not replace your MSN Internet Access e-mail account. To create a Hotmail account sign out of your .NET Passport and visit the Hotmail Web site.
  • Set up your Hotmail to access your MSN Internet Access e-mail. This will allow you to view your MSN Internet Access e-Mail messages on Hotmail and also allow you to read your e-mail on Outlook Express. To do this:
    1. Create a Hotmail account, if needed.
    2. Sign in to Hotmail.
    3. Click POP Mail, under Services on the left navigation bar.
    4. In the 1st POP Account section, use the following information:
      • For POP Server Name, type pop3.email.msn.com.
      • For POP User Name, type your Member ID (the first part of your e-mail address)
      • For POP User Password, type your MSN Internet Access password.
      • Choose a New Mail Indicator symbol. Using a unique symbol for each POP account makes it easier to identify the account a message is from in your Hotmail Inbox.
    5. Select the Leave messages on POP server check box if you want to keep a copy of all POP mail on the POP server. If you do not check this box, you will not be able to read your MSN Internet Access e-mail on Outlook Express.
    6. OK.
To check messages, sign in to Hotmail and click POP Mail under Services. Your MSN Internet Access e-mail will be marked with the unique symbol you chose during the POP Account Setup.
